Each Arts in Schools programme is based on the following:
Regular Classes
Regularly scheduled classes (weekly for example) in dance, drama, singing and musical theatre. Generally classes take place during or after school. Classes can be made to support the curriculum.
One-off workshops
Full or half-day one-off workshops in all aspects of musical theatre (dance, drama and singing). These can be accommodated within your school setting or at Glenlyn Academy’s studios, giving students a unique insight into life as a performing arts student.
Term-length special projects
A project lasting the length of the term. This can include school plays, musicals and showcase performances. This programme is tailor made for each school.
Individual or small group peripatetic classes
Individual or small group classes in speech and drama. Classes are scheduled before, during and after school in a similar way to instrumental lessons.
Staff training in performing arts provision
One-off or regular workshops for staff to enable them to introduce performing arts into the school curriculum. Workshops can be incorporated into a school’s existing staff CPD plan and are usually run on school inset and staff training days. Workshops focus on speech and drama, dance and singing and are tailor made for each institution. These can be accommodated within your school setting or at Glenlyn Academy’s studios.
